General Interests
My graduate training is primarily in the area of supersymmetric field theories in superspace and its applications.
- Superspace formalism
- Simple (d|N = 4|1)
- Projective (d|N= 4|2, 5|1, and 6|1)
- Harmonic (d|N= 4|2, 5|1, and 6|1)
- ??? (d|N= 4|4 ... 10|1)
- Covariant superstring quantization
- Hybrid formalism
- Minimal and non-minimal pure spinor formalism
- Covariant superstring field theory
- ...
Current Research
I am currently involved in various research projects the stages of which range from preliminary investigation to the final drafting of the article for submission to the arXiv. These include (in no particular order):
- Superstring quantization in Ramond-Ramond backgrounds from the worldsheet (along the lines of my work hep-th/0607122 with Brenno Carlini Vallilo) and the connection to the spacetime approach involving generalized complex geometry.
- New hybrid description for the heterotic string on K3 surfaces and resulting N=2 closed heterotic string field theory (with Brenno Carlini Vallilo).
- Formulation of projective supergravity as minimal extension of old minimal supergravity.
- Unification of the covariant formalisms for the superstring. At present hybrids are obtained by a field redefinition of the standard RNS variables (Berkovits map). The relation between two hybrids is demonstrated through these maps to the RNS formalism. There should be a more direct route and an underlying principle organizing these structures.
- Conformal field theory description of singularities in manifolds with special holonomy (with Ram Sriharsha).
