  Welcome to MAT 123

MAT 123 is a thorough preparation for the calculus sequences at Stony Brook University. The primary objective is to strengthen students' grasp of the mathematical tools needed for calculus: functions, graphs, polynomials, exponentials, logarithms, trigonometry, and their applications. Towards the end of the course we will study the first fundamental concepts of calculus as part of a transition to the beginning of MAT 125.

These pages will be updated regularly throughout the semester. For specific course-related information, go to the course info page. Other pages here contain the (tentative) course schedule, home assignments with solutions, and exam reviews. The resources page has course-related animations, advice on study strategies, and other useful stuff.

  Important dates:
March 6Midterm I
April 15 Midterm II
TBAFinal Exam: May 8, in-class

Request: If you found Axler's supplement on trigonometry useful, please take this survey (FYI, we used only Chapter 5)

Grades have been posted to Solar; final exam scores are in Blackboard. Have a good summer.
