| MAT 126 |
The course meets at SUNY Stony Brook Manhattan, in room 224. Class will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30PM to 5:00PM. There will be office hours for 30 minutes before class and for 30 minutes after class; students who have questions about homework are encouraged to use these to their advantage.
The textbook for the course will be "Single Variable Calculus: Stony
Brook University Edition" by James Stewart.
A graphing calculator may be helpful, but will not be necessary; no
calculators will be allowed on the exams.
The course grade will be based on homeworks, a midterm, and a final. The
midterm and final will both be held during usual course hours, in the
usual room.
The midterm will be held in class on July 31, and will cover material from
chapters 5.1 through 5.10 (definitions, Riemann sums, Fundamental Theorem,
various techniques of integration, and improper integrals).
The final will be held on the last day of class, August 21, and will be
comprehensive.
The homework will be problems from the textbook, assigned
each week on Thursday and due the following Thursday.
The assignments
will also be posted below on this website.
