MAT 132 Calculus IIThe course will cover integration, differential equations, and infinite series. Knowledge of these topics is essential for studies in mathematics, the physical sciences, economics, engineering, and other fields. A good grasp of differentiation is assumed at the outset, as is some familiarity with elementary integration. Please click on the links on the left to find out more. The syllabus, textbook, prerequisites info and grading policies can all be found on the Course Info page. The Instructors & Recitations page contains the schedule for lectures and recitations, as well as instructors' office hours and contact info. The homeworks (assigned weekly) will be posted on the Homework page. Exam schedule is on the Exams page. Final Exam Results: the exam was quite hard (intentionally so). It might be hard to believe, but a harder exam is actually to your advantage since you get credit for knowing the important concepts and are not penalized for small mistakes. Of course the grades are curved; the average was only about 50% or so, so 130/200 and up counts as a good score. The exams scores will be in Blackboard very soon. (Most are already there.) No letter grades were given for the test. Rather, your score contributes to your total score for the semester. The semester letter grades will be available in SOLAR as soon as they are processed. The final exam is on Dec 18, 2:00 -4:30 pm. Exam locations and practice questions are on the Exams page. Additional office hours will be held by Yasha Savelyev on Monday, Dec 17, 4-7 pm in 3-104. Exam Solutions for Midterm II are here (pdf file). Exam Grades are on Blackboard. The second midterm is on Thursday, November 8, 8:30 - 10:00 pm. Exam Solutions for Midterm I are here (pdf file). Exam Grades are on the Blackboard site (NetID required to log in). The first midterm is on Wednesday, October 10, 8:30 - 10:00 pm. Please check the Exams page for important info: exam location, topics checklist, and practice questions. IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the exam schedule and to be available for exams at these times. There will be no makeups for midterm exams. As for the final exam, university policy is that makeup exams are given only for work missed due to documented medical reasons and for exceptional "unforeseeable" circumstances beyond the student's control. This does not include schedule conflicts.
