Course description: This course will develop Euclidean geometry and then contrast it with more exotic geometries. First we will study Euclidean geometry along the approach which was traditional at high school prior to reducing the geometry part of the high school curriculum in the sixties. Then we will study similar geometries in other classical spaces.

Textbook: Kiselev's Geometry, adapted from Russian by Alexander Givental, Sumizdat, El Cerrito, Calif., 2006.

Homework is a compulsory part of the course. Homework assignments are due each week at the beginning of the Tuesday's class. Under no circumstances will late homework be accepted.

Grades policy The final grade is the maximum of the grade from the final exam and the weighted average according the following weights: homework 10%, Quzzes 15%, Midterm I 20%, Midterm II 20%, Final 35%.
