MAT 123: Introduction to Calculus

Fall 2008

The final exam will be held on December 19th at 8:00AM, and will consist of 6 questions. A previous final exam may be found here.

NOTE TO MY LECTURE STUDENTS: Use of the power rule on the final is permitted only for questions which explicitly allow it.

The location of the final for all students in Lecture 1 is the SBU Auditorium (123 in the Union Building, right next to the ticket booth). If you are in any lecture section other than mine, the location of the final is the Sports Complex Arena. Please arrive by 7:50AM (WITH YOUR ID!) so that we can start and end the exam promptly.

I will be holding extra office hours on Monday, 12/15, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM in Math Tower 3-109.

Also, I will be covering the 12/15 meeting of Lecture 3 (in Harriman Hall 137, from 9:50AM to 11:10AM) and since I will be reviewing for the final, you are more than welcome to attend.

Homework

Each homework assignment will be graded as follows. The maximum possible score is 100. 3 problems will be graded fully for credit; these are worth 20 points each. The remaining 40 points are a "bonus" for completing the assignment; for each unattempted problem which is not fully graded, 3 points will be deducted. No late homework will be accepted! The lowest homework will be dropped when computing your recitation grade.
