It usually meets on Wednesdays 2:30-4:00pm in Math Tower P-131.
The talks are usually 60-minute-long. The extra time
is for questions, if any.
The style is informal and many questions are usually asked.
Speakers should keep this fact in mind when preparing their
60-minute-talk.
The seminar is usually attended, as its name suggest, by
people from a variety of different fields.
We usually like speakers to aim great part of their talk
to a general audience.
They should not assume that they will be speaking
to specialists in their area.
Rather, we would like the speakers to spend some time
describing the field at large,
making efforts to present ideas, concepts and techniques in a
way that is accessible to as vast an audience as possible,
including first year graduate students.
