Class: MAT 132 (Calculus II)
Instructor: Brandon Williams
Grader: Gabriel Drummond-Cole
Class Time: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:00 - 9:05 PM in Physics P113
Office Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:30 - 5:50 PM in MLC, or by appointment

Textbook:
James Stewart, Calculus, Concepts and Contexts: Single Variable, third edition, Brooks-Cole Publishing.

Course Description:
This course is a continuation of Calculus I, where differential calculus was developed and the basics of integral calculus was covered. In Calculus II we will first cover more advanced techniques of computing integrals, as well as some applications of integrals to computing volumes and physics. Next, we will discuss differential equations and methods of solving simple differential equations. Finally, we will cover sequences and series, and the power series representations of functions.

Policy:
Problems will be posted below each week, but are not due at any time. Instead, there will be weekly quizzes given every Wednesday. The quizzes will be roughly 20-30 minutes, and will be based on the previous week's homework problems. There are 5 quizzes in total, but the lowest quiz grade will be dropped. The final exam will be given on the last day of class. Each quiz will be worth 15 points and the final will be worth 40 points.

Final Information:
The final will be given in class on August 16th at 6:00pm. You have 3 hours to complete the exam, which consists of 20 problems, each worth 2 points. Calculators are not allowed, but you can have one index card for formulas. A list of topics on the final can be found here, and a sample final can be found here. Another sample final can be found here (this is the sample final from the MAT 132 class last fall).
