What this course is about

In this course we shall be using techniques already acquired in single variable calculus and applying them to multidimensional settings. Geometrical intuition is most important, we shall not be memorizing a list of rules in order to solve standard problems.

Midterm!!!!!!

The midterm will be held during class on Thursday 15th October. The material tested will be from chapters 11 and 12 from your textbook.

How we calculate your grade

Homework : Midterm : Final
30 : 30 : 40

Your two lowest homework grades will be dropped when we calculate your final score - so don't worry if you have a disaster for one or two weeks.

Office hours

I shall hold office hours 3-5pm Thursdays in my office Math 4-101b, and in the MLC 2.30-3.30pm Tuesdays. Also, you are always welcome to email me with questions. I am here to help!

Homework

Homework exercises are drawn from Edition 9 of Multivariable Calculus by Larson and Edwards. They are due in between 7 and 14 days after they are set - in this way you should have at least a full week to complete homework exercises. Homeworks should be handed in during recitations or by arrangement with Seyed or Xiaojie.
I encourage you to try more questions than just those set! The answers to the odd-numbered exercises are in the back of the book and so act as a good check as to whether you understand the material.

You learn math by doing math!
