Course description: The main goal of this course is to study in detail fundamental concepts and methods of algebra that are used in all branches of mathematics. Homeworks, exams and grades. The homework sets will be posted weekly on the web in PDF format and will be due by noon on the due date. If for some reason you missed the lecture, please bring the homework to the professor's office. (Put it under their office door if the professor is not there.) Late work will receive reduced credit, and will not be accepted after solutions are posted. In addition, there will be two midterm exams and a final exam:
Grades will be based on the following scheme: Homework -- 25%; Midterms (two) 20% each; Final Exam 35%. |
