C'est moi!

Jean Valjean.

Just kidding. I was a graduate student of the State University of New York at Stony Brook in the mathematics department. If you want more on my math stuff (then you're probably certifiable but) go ahead and look. I also worked as a research assistant in the department, which means I occasionally taught classes, but mostly I spent my time as a system administrator for the department's two computer networks, and doing web design projects.

Now, I do a bunch o' stuff. But mostly I work as a strategic planner, primarily for educational institutions. My focus is on using technology to help people do their thang, only better.

Perhaps slightly more amusingly, I write speculative fiction (huh? You know: science fiction and fantasy with like robots and ray guns and ... never mind). Check out my writing section. By the way, it's all my mother's fault. While I was still living in her tummy, she went and read "The Lord Of The Rings."

More? I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I went to Wits University and double majored (well, sort of, the system ain't like Kansas) in math and economics.

Otherwise, I gotta lotta love for cricket, my Yankees, and racquetball, although not necessarily in that order, and I've recently taken up Bridge -- a truly fascinating game. Don't get me started on Shakespeare, Yeats, and cummings, or Delany, Gibson, and Donaldson, or Beethoven, Wagner, and Meat Loaf.
