Text: Selected Chapters from PreCalculus and Single Variable Calculus, James Stewart.
Syllabus: We will cover approximately Chapters 2,3,4,5 and 7 in the precalculus section
and Chapter 2 in the calculus part, with omissions of certain sections. For a more detailed
day to day syllabus, refer to the daily schedule page.
Classdays: Classes begin on Monday, June 2 and end on Thursday, July 10.
Homework: Homework will be assigned on the homework page. There will be homework due
every Monday and Thursday(except for midterm and final.) Homework must be stapled and
have to be in the format described in the homework page. No late homeworks will be accepted.
Quiz: There will be four quizzes. For the dates, look at the daily schedule page. What to study
for each quiz will be announced in the class the day before.
Examinations: Midterm date: June 19th. Final: July 10th.
Grades:Grades are computed using: Homework 15%, Quiz 15%, Midterm 30% , Final 40%.
Disabilities: If you have any condition, such as physical or mental disability, that will
make it diffiult to complete the course or that will require extra time on examinations,
notify your lecturer during the first two weeks of class so that appropriate arrangements
can be made.
Drop dates: Last day for Add/Drop is June 6.
