Course Description:
This course presents the fundamentals of Linear Algebra. We will cover chapter 1 through 4, and some part of chapter 5 and 7 of the book.
Grading Policy:
15%+15% for homework.
20%+20% for the midterms.
30% for final exam.
Examinations:
There will be 2 midterm examinations and a final examination. No make-ups for midterms. Times and locations are following:
Midterm 1: Oct. 1, Mon., 8:30-10:00PM, 117 Harriman Hall
Midterm 2: Nov. 5, Mon., 8:30-10:00PM, 117 Harriman Hall
Final: Dec. 17, Mon., 8:00-10:30AM, Dance Studio--in Gym
Homework:
Homework will be assigned every class and will be collected in the following Monday. The assignments will also appear on this web page. No late homework will be accepted.
Some (5) of the problems will been graded, and these homework sets will be returned the following Monday (After this day, please come to my office hour to get homework back).
You will get two scores from homework. One is the grade of the homework. The another comes from a revised version of homework. Once you get your homework back, 4 days later, on Friday, you will required to hand in a revised version of all 5 graded problems if you didn't get full for this homework.

Calculators:
No calculator or any type of electronic devices except standard wrist watch is allowed to any of the examinations. But it is encouraged to have some practice on using MATLAB, Maple, Mathematica or calculators to Linear Algebra.
