This spring I'm teaching Mathematical Physics I, a class on quantum field theory.
I'm a Research Assistant Professor at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, and affiliated with the Math Department at Stony Brook University (AKA "SUNY").

My research focuses on mathematical ideas related to quantum field theory and string theory. I got my PhD under Edward Frenkel at Berkeley; my thesis gave the first construction of the Gromov-Witten theory of an Artin stack, using some of Constantin Teleman's ideas. At present, I'm working on Gromov-Witten theory and gauge theory, with an eye towards the Geometric Langlands program. I'm also -- to date, recreationally -- interested in rigorous approaches to path integration and OPE-algebras.

My friends and I write about math at the Secret Blogging Seminar.
