Mathematics Department Secondary Teacher Preparation Program Information for Prospective Students |

The Mathematics Secondary
Teacher Preparation Program prepares students to be teachers of mathematics in the secondary
schools. It currently satisfies all requirements for
New York State provisional certification for
teaching mathematics, grades 7 -- 12. The Program is administered by
the Mathematics Department as part of Stony Brook's
Professional
Education Program.

Admission to the Mathematics Secondary
Teacher Preparation Program. Students must be officially signed in before
they begin participating in the Program. Admission requirements are:

Graduation from the Mathematics Secondary
Teacher Preparation Program. Students must complete:
Students interested in this program should contact the program director, if possible by the end of the freshman year, but at latest before registering for the junior year.
